I just need to build a bit that goes over here…
Building a website is the easy part. No - it is! Stay with me on this.
The hard part is (for me anyway) split between designing the site and choosing the best tools for the job. The actual build is straightforward.
JohnHQLD.com used WordPress, and it served me well at the time. If you wanted to make a new website, depending on what you were doing, it’s still a great alternative.
That’s the key - it’s an alternative. Tech trends and business needs are rarely aligned, and WordPress started costing me more than it saved.
So, I have spent the last few months thinking about what I want to do with the site. The journey still has a way to go, but I have identified that one thing I can do is share that journey.
I’m not going to teach anyone how to build the perfect website. It doesn’t exist.
But I can show you my thoughts on why I am building certain things a certain way, and share the journey as I play with the alternatives!
So if you are just here to see what I am up to, this will be easier for you in 2025. But if you are starting to make your site or start a coding journey, there might be some interesting tidbits for you soon!
